RU F.I.T. GREENIES F.I.T.ness Ministry:
(In every church and school)
A Paraclete in the Greek language is: one who comes alongside and comforts. We need each other during our journey to GET and STAY FIT. Some days we feel as if we are on the top of the world, while others ... well ... it doesn't quite feel that way.
The RU F.I.T. GREENIES Exercise Clubs will exist to come alongside and encourage people GET and STAY FIT with a F-aith that I-nfluences T-oday where we live, work, and play both spiritually and physically by providing a Biblical mindset and caring encouragement that keeps us all accountable to glorify God in our BODIES and in our SPIRITS.
Go to www.facebook.com/rufitministries to post your workouts as a way to encourage and motivate yourself and others to GET and STAY FIT! We will post weekly pictures of our workouts ... and any pictures you choose to upload to the RU FIT Face book page (and we encourage you to do so ... as much as possible).
I will also post daily RU FIT Thoughts of the day at www.facebook.com/rufitministries.
Thank you for being part of our family of GREENIES!

Our Running Group/Club will have certain attributes that are unique; here is a rundown:
1. We will have multiple running choices:
*Couch to 5K (beginners) - This group will need mentors (seasoned runners) to help them gain a footing
*Long Run - Usually on the weekend (Saturday or Sunday), and will be between 7-12 miles to begin
*Various Paces - Based on our initial meeting we will determine days and times for same pace groups
2. We will run races as a group (wherever we may be located) for causes via nonprofit of RU F.I.T. Motivational Ministries. What I mean by that is that we will choose 3-6 races (one or two being half marathons) that we can gain pledges per mile (or a given total for the run) and benefit a worthy cause in the area as part of The Running Paracletes. One in particular is the Run the Valley Half Marathon every September in Baden which I run as a benefit for the Youth Garage at our church so we can influence the youth of our area. We will discuss with the group in your area which races a year in advance so we can plan for a tremendous involvement.
3. If you don't prefer running ... each meeting will contain various workouts that don't involve running.
If you would like to volunteer as a mentor/coach for a group of new runners or those who exercise in some other fasion, please fill out the form directly below and mentioned that you would like to be a mentor/coach in the comment:

exciting Route Rotation:
6. A way in which we can run multiple routes and interject hill workouts would be to begin on the Harris Teeter at the intersection of Old Mallard Creek Road and Harris Blvd. We will run to the Greenway and from there we have multiple routes from which to choose (we will choose before we leave). If we reverse this route and go up Mallard Creek and enter the Greenway from Mallard Creek Elementary, then we will have a challenging hill near the end of the 4 mile run.

I have run all of these routes, and more, for over two years (over 3,100 miles in all since June of 2012) and it never ceases to give me great joy. There is always some new miracle of nature that pops up and thoughts never cease to course through my mind. I look forward to enjoying our runs together as we GET and STAY F.I.T together.
